In short: morning resting heart rate (RHR) often reflects your background. It can rise due to sleep, load, stress, or alcohol. One day rarely means anything big on its own.

Common scenarios:

  • short sleep or unstable timing
  • higher load the day before
  • a stressful, dense week
  • alcohol or a late dinner
  • feeling mildly unwell

RHR is most useful as a trend, especially together with HRV and your context. Full guide: Resting heart rate: why your morning pulse can be higher.
